About: English Learning Skills Program

Fillmore Adult School's ESL Program is committed to assisting non-native speakers of English in acquiring sufficient language proficiency and independent learning strategies to become successful participants in the communities. Fillmore Adult School offers classes for adults who grew up speaking a language other than English. There are a range of courses to meet a variety of needs—from students who have had little exposure to English to those who have a good background in English and need to improve their skills.  FAS also offers Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes for pre-ESL and pre-literate students, as well as Adult Secondary Education (ASE) classes for post-ESL students looking to continue into post-secondary degree and certificate programs.
